Mattapan Tech Refugee Assistance Approach

DONATE !

At Mattapan Tech Refugee Assistance, our primary objective is to pave the way for refugees to achieve their educational and career aspirations. We firmly believe that refugees should be viewed as valuable assets, not burdens on society. The transition from dependency to self-sufficiency is a vital step in empowering newcomers both socially and economically. Here's an overview of our approach:

1. Work Authorization Assistance: We understand that the journey towards self-sufficiency often begins with securing the legal right to work. Mattapan Tech provides comprehensive support to refugees in obtaining the necessary work authorizations, ensuring they have the legal foundation to build their careers.

2. Personalized Skill Assessment: We recognize that each refugee brings a unique set of skills, education, and work experiences to the table. To maximize their potential, we conduct thorough assessments to identify their strengths and match them with industries where they are best suited to excel. This tailored approach enhances their chances of success in the job market.

3. ESL and Basic Computer Training: Effective communication and digital literacy are essential in today's job market. Mattapan Tech offers English as a Second Language (ESL) and basic computer training to equip refugees with the language and technology skills necessary for success in their chosen fields.

4. Job-Seeking Support: We assist refugees with resume preparation, job searches, job applications, and job interviews. Additionally, for qualified refugees, we provide advanced training to further enhance their skills and qualifications. Our goal is to empower refugees with the tools and knowledge they need to secure meaningful employment and build a sustainable future.

5. Workshops on Common Laws and Regulations: Navigating a new country's legal landscape can be challenging. To address this, Mattapan Tech offers workshops on basic common laws and regulations, ensuring refugees are aware of their rights and responsibilities. This knowledge empowers them to engage in their new communities with confidence.

In summary, Mattapan Tech Refugee Assistance is dedicated to transforming refugees into self-sufficient, empowered individuals who contribute positively to their host communities. By providing the necessary support, training, and resources, we enable refugees to not only rebuild their lives but also to thrive in their adopted homeland. We see refugees as assets, and our approach reflects our commitment to realizing their potential and fostering their success in both educational and career pursuits.
